I’ve been drawing cars for as long as I can remember. As a kid I learned much about drawing cars by studying CARtoons, Hot Rod Cartoons and other similar magazines of the era.
In 1985 I started my design business, Williams Graphics (later, Larry Williams Design). Through my contacts in the drag racing community that were established while working as art director for drag racing publication, United Racer, I was able to pursue paint scheme design and t-shirt design work full time. Although the procedures have changed greatly since those early days (most of the work is done digitally now) I’m still doing basically the same type of work today.
I also do hot rod concept development and logo design, Over the years I’ve worked with many different drag racers and have also been blessed to work with many corporate clients as well.
My work has appeared in magazines such as Hot Rod, Car Craft, Drag Racing Magazine, Super Stock & Drag Illustrated, Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords and others. I also have a passion for cartooning. I regularly do commission ‘toons of all types of vehicles.
